Kelsey Reading Room and Materials Use Policy
Welcome to the Cushing Memorial Library's Mavis P. and Mary Kelsey
Reading Room. The materials in our collections are here because of their rarity, value and/or
restrictions placed on them as a condition of their sale or gift to the University. Additionally,
all of the collections are housed here primarily for research purposes. Our use policy is not
intended to hinder your research but to provide access to the collections in a manner that will
ensure their continued preservation.
- The use of the Kelsey Reading Room is restricted to patrons using
materials from the Cushing Memorial Library's collections.
- The use of all Cushing materials is restricted to the Kelsey Reading Room.
- Only pencils should be used to take notes. These are
available at the Reference Desk.
- Paper will be provided to researchers for the purpose of note taking.
- Researchers must exercise extreme care: materials must not
be marked or leaned on, folded, traced, or handled in any manner that will
result in damage to them. Hold pages of books and loose sheets by their
edges to avoid soiling.
- The order and arrangement of materials within all file folders are very
important and must be kept as such. If a filing error is detected, please
inform the reading room attendant.
- No materials will be made available to patrons after 4:45 p.m., and
researchers must return borrowed materials 15 minutes before closing time.
The Cushing Memorial Library reserves the right to
search materials and/or belongings.
If you have any questions please consult the reading
room attendant. Thank you for your cooperation. |
