University Archives, along with the rare books, manuscripts and
art works
that were formerly designated "Special Collections"
has moved into the newly
refurbished and restored Cushing Memorial Library. As the
various items were carted over from the Sterling C. Evans Library,
many treasures were re- discovered as they were returned to their
home in Cushing.
Among the most interesting and poignant items are the old
scrapbooks kept by
former students to record their student days at Texas A&M.
These faded and
yellowing photographs are the closest thing we have to a time
machine. They take us back to an age that seems so very long ago.
On close inspection it is evident that students have always
enjoyed a few pranks and a little general mayhem.
It is refreshing to look back every once in a
while to see where we came from. Here are just a few of the views
that have not seen the light of day in a long time. They help form
the priceless legacy of the Aggies who have gone on before.
One of these albums belonged to P. S. Groginski
'14.
