This hood was worn during the ground assault of Operation Desert Storm by 2LT Michael Kelley of "C" CO/4-66 AR. It was part of a down-lined parka worn to combat the cold of the winter desert's high wind and rain. It fit over the C.V. Chelmet easily due to its large size.

These boots were worn by soldiers in C Company/4-66 Armor during Operation Desert Storm.

It was worn by SPC James Childress JR. , the loader of tankC33/C Co. /4-66, during the war. He is from Mertyon, Texas.

The CPOG was worn by us and allied ground forces to help protect against possible Iraqi chemical attack from artillery and Scud missiles.

MOPP 1 (Mission Oriented Protective Posture) = An individual soldier wears the top and bottom of the CPOG.

"MOPP Suits"-Mission Oriented Protective Posture

These suits were used by different soldiers in C Company/4-66Armor Battalion. The plain green suit (shirt 3. A, pants 3. B) was from US forces in Europe and the Meadowland; mixed colored suits (shirt 3. C, pants 3. D; 4. A, B same as above in small;5. A, B same as above in medium) were from the US. The mark on the arm of the plain green suit is from M9 chemical detection paper that sticks onto the suit to detect the presence of chemical liquid on objects.

Found in the pants pocket of the mixed suit.

6. A,B USA Desert Battle Dress Uniform (DBDU)

This set of Desert BDUs was worn by a soldier in C Co/4-66Armor Battalion.

They were not received until after the war was over due to shortages and difficulties in distribution. They were worn home to Aschaffenburg and then turned into the supply section.

This fireproof hood, worn by combat vehicle crewmen to protect from explosion/flash/urns, was used by PFC Carlos Vargas of D Co/1-7 INF during Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

This is believed to be a flotation device, possibly for a helicopter or jet pilot. It could have been used by infantry near the Euphrates River.

26. B Iraqi Sweater

This sweater is made of wool and is from Romania as seen by the tag inside the collar.

It was found in a stack of abandoned uniforms next to an air defense machine gun position next to an oil field south of Al Medina in SE Iraq.

This belonged to a soldier of the Medina Division of the Republican Guards.

27. A,B USA Nomex Suit - shirt and pant

This suit was commonly used by tankers during the Cold War in Germany. It is flame resistant, to protect the armor crew member in case of a vehicle fire.

This suit, nor any two-piece Nomex, was used in the Gulf War. There are now one-piece body-quits (Nomex) used in the war.

27. C Iraq Khaki Uniform Pants

These pants were in a pile of abandoned uniforms next to a cache of 105mm artillery shells, stored in a defensive trench under a corrugated tin and sandbag roof.

The pants belonged to a soldier of the Medina Division of the Republican Guard. They were two kilometers north of Highway 8 and south of Al Medina in SE Iraq.

27. D Iraq Camouflage Pattern Uniform Pants

These pants were found in a pile of abandoned Iraqi uniforms that were next to a supply trench of 105mm artillery shells.  They were burned when U. S. Army Engineers blew up the shells and the fire blew of them.

The pants belonged to an artillery man of the Republican Guard's Medina Division. This was two kilometers north of Highway 8 and south of Al Medina in SE Iraq.

This is a hat worn by 2LT Michael A. Kelley upon arrival to Saudi Arabia and before redeployment back to Germany.

29. Battle Dress Uniform (BDU's)

These "winter" heavyweight BDU's were worn by SSG Keith D. Beall of 2nd Plt. /C Co/1-7 IN of the 3rd ("Phantom") Brigade/3rd ID. These were worn during Operations Desert Shield and Storm.

Note the 3rd ID patches and CIB (Combat Infantryman's Badge) patch.

SSG Beall, Keith D.  Assigned to C Co 1/7 INF 2nd Platoon C-22 (BFV) Spear Head Company for Battalion - Lead Company for the lead BN. , for the lead Bde, for the lead Div. ,for the lead Corp.

30. Battle Dress Uniform (BDU)

These BDU's were worn by SSG Keith Beall, a Bradley crewmember and infantry team leader in C-22 (BFV) of C Co/1-7 IN.

This was the lead company of the lead battalion, of the lead division (1st AD) of the lead Corps (VII Corps) during the ground attack during Operation Desert Storm.

The heavy desert wear and tear on these BDU's is seen by the sewn up holes/abrasion spots to patch up the uniform.
