Albert Rieger

Waterfall in the Pyrenees I

    Albert Rieger was born in Trieste in 1834, the son and student of Joseph Rieger. He did his work in Vienna and was awarded a gold medal at the Vienna Academy. He specialized in marines and landscapes. Among his best creations are "Moonlight in Spitzbergen," "Rain on the Dovan," and "Forest of the Princess." He died in Vienna in 1905.

    The two Riger paintings were created as a a pair for specific spaces.
